Gratefu2(En)

What is gratefu2?

We are a Tennis Circle Established in Kanto on May 1, 2023!!
Our motto is "Enjoy tennis as a fun unit, instead of individually!"
※ We have a sister circle in Kansai called "Gratefu1," and in Kanto, we operate as "Gratefu2." Cute, right?

Information

Gratefu2 (commonly known in Japanese as "GU-RE-FU-RU") is a tennis circle where anyone can participate. We welcome all for a variety of reasons, such as:

・Those looking for tennis friends as working adults
・Those who need a break from being a coach potato
・If you need a good stress reliever
・If you're a beginner, looking to start tennis as a new hobby
・If you're shy but want tennis friends
・If you want to find a fulfilling experience in Japan
・If you’ve taken a break from tennis and but want to start again,
・If you've relocated or are a new employee in Tokyo or Kanagawa and want to make new friends
・If gym memberships are too expensive but you want to lose weight through cardio

Everyone has their own reasons for joining, but how about playing tennis with us at Gratefu2, starting a new chapter and taking your first step into a wonderful community? We value "connections, gratitude, and smiles" above all.

★Application Criteria★

■ Men: Intermediate level or higher. (NTRP 5.0+ Self rating OK) Must be able to rally, engage actively, and communicate well during play.
Note: Men who are extremely quiet or struggle with communication may not fit the team’s dynamic, and we may have to decline those who do not comply.

■ Women: Beginner level or higher. (NTRP 2.0+) Must be able to chase the ball until the end without giving up.
Note: Those who haven't hit for a while or are currently attending tennis school are welcome! However, some beginners may find it difficult to keep up, so we ask you to refrain from joining if you are a total beginner.

★Age Range★
Most participants are in their 20s to late 30s. If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us!
Note: To maintain a balance, we prioritize those in their 20s and 30s. Thank you for understanding.

★Participation Fee★
Each session: ¥800 to ¥1,000 per person (discounts available for card holders that can book local courts)
No annual or membership fee; the fee covers court, balls, equipment, and event costs.
The fee remains consistent regardless of the number of participants, so you can join with a peace of mind.
We use plenty of balls during practice.
"Hamacco Card" and "Tokyo Citizen Card" use is optional, but members who let Gratefu2 use their cards will receive a discount for participating.

★Equipment★
We do not offer racket or shoe rentals. Please bring your own equipment. Japan mostly has either Omni sand courts or hard courts.

★Important Notes★
Soliciters for religion, business (including MLM), or any aggressive flirting/harassment, as well as invitations to other groups, is strictly prohibited.
Violators will be removed from the group and charged for the full court and ball fees on the day.
